IDENTITY

ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:
What is identity and why is it important?
How do artists express their identity?
Who am I and why?
How can I express my identity?

WHY?
High school is a time where most of us explore our identity and is a great time to address the components of what makes us… us. By identifying the different factors that influence identity we will start to see how complex we really are. We will also discuss how identity influences the way we understand the world around us and the art that we make.




ASSIGNMENT

1Create a self-portrait made up of objects, symbols and/or imagery that represent key elements of your identity. You must be able to explain how your artwork represents your identity. We will be doing this by carving bas Reliefs on clay tiles.
