IDENTITY TILE

ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:
What is identity and how have artists used this topic to create artworks?
How do you roll out a slab of clay and what is bas relief?
How can you create an artwork based on your own identity?


ASSIGNMENT

Create a self-portrait made up of objects, symbols and/or imagery that represent key elements of your identity. You must be able to explain how your artwork represents your identity. We will be doing this by carving bas Reliefs on clay tiles and adding clay when appropriate.

Requirements:

Prep:

Forming:
Tile is rolled out to proper thickness- 5 points
There are at least 3 different depths of carving- 5 points
Good craftsmanship- 5 points

Glazing:
Glaze is the proper thickness- 5 points

Extra Credit:
2 finger puppets- 5 points
